The work is of a technical nature and requires you to use independent judgment within the limits of Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment.
Safety:
Ensuring a safe working environment is a top priority.
Team leaders are responsible for enforcing safety protocols and addressing safety concerns promptly.
Quality Assurance:
Ensuring that the products meet strict quality standards is a top priority.
Team leaders are responsible for maintaining and improving product quality, which includes identifying and addressing defects promptly.
Efficiency and Productivity:
Team leaders are tasked with optimizing the production process for efficiency and productivity.
They are expected to identify and eliminate waste (in terms of time, materials, and resources) to maximize production output while minimizing costs.
Assist the Plant Manager and Production Manager in monitoring overall plant performance for production and quality control standards.
Continuous Improvement:
One of the fundamental principles of operational excellence is continuous improvement, often referred to as Kaizen.
Team leaders are expected to lead and facilitate continuous improvement efforts within their teams, involving team members in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
Standardization:
Strong emphasis on standardizing work processes to reduce variability and ensure consistency.
Team leaders are responsible for implementing and maintaining standardized work procedures within their teams.
Training and Development:
Team leaders are expected to train and develop their team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
This includes cross-training team members to be versatile and adaptable.
Develop and manage team members' performance and capabilities based on company KPIs.
Team Management:
Team leaders are responsible for managing and leading their teams, which may include assigning tasks, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts.
Effective communication and leadership skills are essential in this role.
Problem Solving:
Team leaders are often the first point of contact when issues or problems arise on the production floor.
They are expected to use problem-solving methodologies to identify the root causes of problems and implement corrective actions.
Materials Management:
Assist in the oversite of materials management processes, including cycle counting.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent - Previous experience in a leadership role in a production or manufacturing environment - Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Attention to detail and commitment to quality - Ability to work effectively in a team environment
