NLB Corp has an immediate opening for a dynamic and energetic Parts Manager at our Wixom, MI Corporate Headquarters. The scope of this position is managing employees and overseeing warehouse, shipping, receiving and handling of materials. Supervises transport of materials to and from departments and ensures material needs are met throughout the organization. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventories and stock records. Must be goal oriented, be successful at trouble shooting, be a self-starter, prioritize and manage time efficiently, while effectively managing multiple tasks at one time. Must be able to communicate positively and successfully with your team, co-workers and all levels of management. Must have a Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or at least three years related supervisory experience and/or training in shipping/receiving; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have intermediate computer skills.
Responsibilities include:
Properly staffing the department, which includes hiring, training, motivating and monitoring the performance of all Parts Department staff.
Manage departmental metrics to establish process improvements and proper resource allocation.
Maintaining an orderly and neat workplace.
Support the service and production departments, by providing material when needed and in the quantities expected.
Managing all aspects of Shipping and Receiving, including both domestic and international shipments.
Confirming that parts are safely and accurately stocked and identified.
Analyze, maintain and/or establish competitive freight and small package rates.
Coordinating local pick-up and deliveries, to and from customers, vendors and other NLB offices.
Experience with UPS and other shipping carriers for lost, late or damaged goods.
Responsible for weekly cycle counting and maintaining accurate inventories and stock records.
Must be able to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
Ability to collaborate with other departments within the Company to develop strategies and achieve goals.
Proven leadership and communication skills; willingness to support team by working side by side as work load demands.
A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
Must be able to pass a lift truck test and operate lift and reach trucks.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical including drug screen.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
Possess a Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university or at least three
years related supervisory experience and/or training in shipping/receiving; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three
years related warehouse experience
To perform this job successfully an individual should have the understanding and aptitude to work with computer inventory programs, manufacturing software, order processing systems and have the ability to use computers efficiently including Microsoft Office Products.
Knowledge of Syteline is a plus.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Possess excellent team building and supervisory skills.
